Our Big Fat Greek Adventure

Aieeee -- it is almost here!

My longtime friend Holle Boykin and I leave Friday morning for Greece. We are going to be in Athens a couple of days and then off to cruise the Greek Isles for several days.

How did we get so lucky, you ask? Well, Holle is the art teacher for the elementary school in a small town in Gadsden County, where we are both from, and we had a teacher in high school who, when she was terminally ill with cancer, determined that the students in our county were underexposed to the greater world that could only be experienced by travel.

So, the Sherry Smith Fellowship was established to provide grants for Gadsden County teachers to travel and bring the expriences back to the classroom in a virtual field trip. Holle applied for the Fellowship and made me promise to go along if she won.

Guess what? We are going to Greece! I'm going along as the photographer and videographer, so that "Miss B" can be captured in all her glory to show the kids in her classes when we return.

My goal is to post daily reports here, so please follow along if you'd like!

Countdown is around 30 hours to departure!!!
