when you find out that the Acropolis bathrooms are closed, you can demonstrate that you are Gadsden County bush-broke *anywhere* you are!
(hey, you gotta do what you gotta do!)
We began our day having slept later than we had intended, but it is Holle's birthday after all! After coffee overlooking the Parthenon,
we headed out to explore, determined to get close to the Acropolis, despite the fact that the building itself was closed due to a strike.
We made the most of what we could access and got lots of exercise, as the walk around the acropolis is more than a mile and the hills were fabulous for building leg muscles!
Yes, we walked up this hill, but not to the Parthenon itself as that is what was closed.
Sitting on a rock for a moment after descending that hill was a much appreciated break!
We headed down into the shopping district and worked up and down there for a while.
We are contemplating going out on the town tonight for Holle's birthday -- would we really be admitting to being 39 if we went up and went straight to bed?!!
Ok, someone send us email or post a comment or *something* to let us know that someone is actually reading all this stuff!!! :-D
