Karen O'Connor and Hugh Knows

Ok, we've survived the first day of driving, driving and more driving! Beth did a fantastic job of staying alert and took only one short nap, driving the rest of the way. We've seen some awesome scenery, made it to the jog on time, got me set up to meet with the safety people on Friday, and got to visit with a lot of the officials, some we've just seen at Red Hills, and others, such as Dr. Cathy Kohn, that I haven't seen in several years.

My visit with Dr. Kohn was particularly neat for me, as she is someone I admire a great deal.

We were exhausted and in desperate need of a shower, but decided to walk back through the trade fair to see what there was going to be to see.

OMG -- there are tons of trailers to walk through, and drool over and just the few shops that already had the flaps up were issuing tractor beams to drag us inexorably forward. We spent not a dime however, and marched resolutely to the parking area, until we were slowed down by the arena full of competitors practicing for their tests. We stayed and watched for a long time -- much better than actually watching the competition! ;)

We had dinner with Cyndi and then headed back to the hotel to crash.

Gina Miles and McKinleigh

Tomorrow morning we have breakfast at Cracker Barrel, followed by getting to the park in time to see the pony warm up and go at 10 am and then hanging about for Jon's test and Kyle's -- running back and forth to the shopping, of course!! :-)
